After every long winter, I always get the urge to redecorate just a little bit. While taking down and moving around art is a hassle, and buying big pieces of furniture is unwieldy (and expensive), one piece of decor I think is perfect for a seasonal reset is some new bedding. It’s a single but impactful way to shake any remaining winter blues off your nighttime routine and give your bed the makeover it deserves.

So, when perusing Pottery Barn Teen’s Memorial Day sales, I was happy to find the Odessa Floral Jersey Comforter on sale for nearly 60% off.

What Is the Odessa Floral Jersey Comforter?

This jersey comforter features a subtle, all-over quilted floral pattern. Made of polyester and rayon with a polyester fill, it’s machine-washable and comes in a twin/twin XL size, making it ideal for dorm living. Although it’s available in three colors — sage green, ice blue, and ivory — I’m a fan of the green, which is on major sale right now.

Its full price is $169, and it’s on clearance for $69.97, or nearly 60% off. The ivory comforter is on the same sale, while the ice blue is currently only available in full/queen, at $99.99 down from $199. Inventory for all is limited, so if you’re looking for a spring or summer bedding reset, then you should order soon.

Why We’re Into It

When we predicted the biggest dorm trends for the 2026-27 school year, one of my favorites was “varsity whimsy,” which combines retro academia with modern, visually playful accents. I love that this quilted, floral comforter sits right inside that style. The sage green shade goes so well with so many other colors, too, and is such a soothing shade for your bedding. The jersey material sounds extra cozy (yet not sweaty) for the warmer weather, and the comforter has also undergone OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 testing, meaning it doesn’t contain 1,000-plus harmful substances (like dyes and chemicals), which is particularly comforting peace of mind for something that you’re sleeping with every night.

Dorm decor, and bedding especially, can get expensive quickly, so shopping for college essentials while they’re on sale is a great way to redecorate — or prepare for the new school year a little early.

The first thing I ever said I wanted to be when I was young was an interior designer. But, after years of waiting by the mailbox for my favorite magazines and seizing every opportunity to write, I decided to pursue journalism. I started my career at Boston magazine, before pivoting into strategic communications, and coming back to journalism when I joined Apartment Therapy in 2022 — the perfect union of my childhood dream and adulthood passion. I edit the Life section, covering wellness, money, career, small-space living, mental health, and all the items, habits, hacks, and pro tips that can help you level up your life at home. I love peeling back the curtain on the myriad fascinating ways people live at home, and relish writing and editing narrative essays, special content packages, and stories that answer that question you’ve always had. When I’m not editing a feature or chasing a hot tip about how to live your best life at home, you can find me rearranging my furniture, perusing a local bookstore (even though I’ve run out of shelf space), writing a newsletter about overthinking pop culture, or taking a veryyy long walk around the city.
