Everyone has a favorite color, but there is no denying that blue is a popular pick. And in 2026, there’s one shade of this fan-favorite hue that you can expect to see everywhere. It’s classic, retro, and futuristic all at once: a cool-toned, icy blue.

I first noticed my pull toward a pale, frosty blue this summer, when I became obsessed with finding the perfect pearlescent finish eyeshadow to re-create the frosted makeup looks of the ’90s. As I type this, my fingernails are painted a light blue too, which makes perfect sense according to the just-released Pinterest Predicts 2026 report.

Pinterest forecasts that 21 trends will take over the culture in 2026, popping up in everything from fashion to food, and Cool Blue instantly caught my eye. According to the report, from September 2024 through August 2025, searches for “glacier aesthetic” were up 35%, “icy blue” was up 50%, and “frosted makeup” was up a stunning 150% as compared to the same timeframe a year prior. Britney Spears would be so proud.

If you’re looking to embrace the cool-toned trend this coming year, there are so many ways to try it out and put your own spin on it. From headphones to table lamps, here are some very cool ways to try on a fresh shade of blue.

Bose QuietComfort Headphones
$359$179

Need some new headphones, but not willing to dish out the money for AirPods Max? Put the Bose QuietComfort Headphones on your wish list. They get rave reviews, and the new “ice blue” color is sure to make even listening to focus music in the library while you try to write your paper feel so much cooler.

If you’re in the market for a new water bottle, Owala is famous for its always-changing and always-on-trend colorways. They have tons of options ranging from minimalist to maximalist, but the Sleek version, with a pale gray-white base and deep blue cap, feels particularly glacial.

Honey & Ivy Element One Table Lamp

Desk lamps and other non-overhead light sources are essential for a cozy room, and especially so for dorm living. This 3D-printed table lamp from Urban Outfitters has such a cute iridescent glow and a convenient 10-foot cord.

MOSISO Compatible with MacBook Air 13-Inch Case
$16$15

Everyone is coveting the sky blue Macbook Air that was released earlier this year, but buying a new laptop every time a fun new color drops just isn’t realistic (or necessary). Instead, pay $15 for this sleek case from Amazon, which comes in a ton of colors, including an on-trend “airy blue.” It’ll protect your laptop from scratches and scuffs, to boot.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 12 Camera
$94

A photo wall is an almost mandatory part of decorating your dorm, and an instant camera makes collecting those memories so much easier. It makes for a great gift for your bestie, too, and comes in lots of cute colors, like this pale blue.

Urban Decay 24/7 Moondust Glittery Eyeshadow
$25

This isn’t a blue find, but if you’re ready for your “frosted makeup” moment? More than 1,500 Sephora reviewers are obsessed with the Moondust Glittery Eyeshadow from Urban Decay, with people pointing out how pigmented it is and how it’s also great as a shimmery top layer. For a cheaper alternative, you could go for this Sephora Collection eyeshadow in Under the Cover — the reviews definitely aren’t as great, but I have this one and love it for a low-key frosty look.

Add just a touch of silvery blue to your bedroom with these satin pillowcases, which will also make your bed look a whole lot more luxe and maybe even keep your hair smoother (satin finish can help prevent frizz).
