Ruggable’s Gorgeous New Dorm Rugs Are So On-Trend, It’s Hard to Pick a Favorite

When I lived in a dorm, I spent so much more time on the floor than I expected: Doing homework on my rug, sitting and watching TV, or just laying down and decompressing from a long day of classes. Speaking from experience, a good dorm rug can quickly make a room feel so much cozier and more like home. 

Rugs can get dirty pretty easily, so ever since my mom first introduced me to Ruggable’s machine washable rugs, I’ve been a huge fan. When I heard about the new RuggableU collection designed specifically for dorms and college students, I couldn’t wait to see what it had in store. Spoiler: They’re even cuter than I anticipated. 

RuggableU is a collection of 28 rugs divided into three themes: Regency Charm, Varsity Prep, and Stagecoach. Humberto Leon, the designer and creative director for global girl group KATSEYE, is the creative force behind the collection, having designed the more than two dozen rugs. 

One of the best parts about RuggableU? These rugs are all-in-one, meaning they have a nonslip backing so you don’t need a rug pad). Plus, each rug is made with their “tufted” fabric which is, according to the Ruggable website, a machine-washable rug designed with a raised, textured, and plush surface. Not to mention, they’re water-resistant and stain-resistant, making them great to withstand spilled snacks and drinks.

For each of the rugs, you can choose from five sizes (2’x3’, 3’x5, 4’x6’, 5’x7’, and 6’x9’) and one runner size (2.5’x7’). The RuggableU prices range from $119 for the smallest area rug (2’x3’) to $499 for the largest (6’x9’). While they are more expensive than some other dorm rugs, a Ruggable rug is great if you’re looking to invest in a piece of decor that you can bring from your dorm to your first apartment and beyond.
