If there’s one thing I can count on Taco Bell to deliver, it’s a fun, refreshing drink. I’m a big fan of the chain’s Strawberry Passionfruit Agua Refresca, so when I saw Taco Bell teamed up with Olivia Rodrigo for a new (pink!) Baja Blast, I was immediately intrigued. As someone who also loves Rodrigo and her music, the “You Seem Pretty Pink for a Baja Blast” collaboration felt like a pretty perfect pairing: colorful, sweet, and playful.

The Pretty Pink Baja Blast, as it’s listed in the Taco Bell app, became available nationwide on September 24, and I had to try it to see what this Olivia Rodrigo-inspired sip actually tastes like.

What Is Taco Bell’s Olivia Rodrigo Pink Baja Blast?

Taco Bell is known for its blue-green, neon-colored Mountain Dew Baja Blast, but this Olivia Rodrigo-inspired Baja Blast adds a “pink lemonade twist” to the soda’s signature tropical lime flavor, according to a Taco Bell press release. The limited-time drink was inspired by the aesthetic of Rodrigo’s new album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, and her love of Taco Bell and the Baja Blast — Rodrigo called the collab her “crowning career achievement” in an Instagram post announcing the drink.

The Pretty Pink Baja Blast debuted last month at Daisy Chain Fields, Rodrigo’s inaugural music festival, but is now widely available in Taco Bell locations for a limited time. I paid $3.69 for a medium Pretty Pink Baja Blast at a New York City Taco Bell.

My Honest Review of Taco Bell’s Olivia Rodrigo Pink Baja Blast

One of the first things I noticed about the Pretty Pink Baja Blast — after the bright pink color — was how fizzy and cold it was. If you love a seriously carbonated drink, this one definitely packs a punch. I’ve never had Mountain Dew before, so I can’t compare the pink version of the Baja Blast to the original. However, when I tried the Pretty Pink Baja Blast, I tasted the tropical sweetness I might expect from the original. I also liked how the pink lemonade added a tart, slightly sour twist that balanced Mountain Dew’s sweetness and made the drink a little more interesting.

For me, the carbonation is really the star of the show. The drink has such an intense fizz that it gives every sip a little jolt, which I can see being a major plus if you’re a fan of bubbly drinks. The lemonade flavor is noticeable, too, but it plays more of a supporting role to what I assume is the classic Baja Blast’s taste.

And, of course, the drink review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the very Olivia packaging. The drink has a bright pink ombré color, and the clear cup features Olivia Rodrigo front and center with the words “You Seem Pretty Pink for a Baja Blast” written in a whimsical, swirly pink font. After tasting the drink, I can see how the flavors tie together the album’s sweet-and-sour themes.

My Final Thoughts on Taco Bell’s Olivia Rodrigo Collaboration

As someone who already loves Rodrigo and Taco Bell’s drinks, I had a feeling I’d enjoy the combination, and I did. It’s not a subtle drink by any means, but if you like your beverages sweet, tart, ice-cold, and very fizzy, the Pretty Pink Baja Blast delivers exactly that.
