“Nobody’s Perfect,” but Starbucks’ “Hannah Montana” Secret Menu Drink Kinda Is (I Went Back the NEXT Day!)
I have a lot of Hannah Montana memories. It’s probably the first show I remember watching, and it was a Disney Channel classic — as older and younger Gen-Z can agree. So I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that Starbucks came out with a special secret menu drink to celebrate Disney’s Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special that dropped on March 24. (Wild that it’s been 20 years since the first episode.)
I was basically already in line at Starbucks when I heard about the new sip, and you know I had to try it immediately, thanks to Starbucks offering me a first taste. Here’s my honest take on the customized refresher, and if it’s something Hannah (or maybe Miley?) would actually go for.
What Is Hannah’s Secret Popstar Refresher at Starbucks?
According to Starbucks, Hannah’s Secret Popstar Refresher is a limited-time, app-listed “secret menu” drink that launched at Starbucks on March 23, and it’s available through April 5.
The drink starts with a Strawberry Açaí Refresher base without the strawberry inclusions, then adds raspberry cold foam on top and two pumps of raspberry syrup. The result is a layered, pink-on-pink drink that looks and tastes extravagant enough for a double life as a pop star. It cost $7.50 for a grande at my North Carolina Starbucks.
While it’s much easier to order on the app, if you have to order in person, here’s how to ask for it:
- Grande Strawberry Açaí Refresher with no strawberry inclusions
- Add raspberry cold foam
- Add 2 pumps raspberry syrup
To fully commit to the bit, Starbucks is also playing a Hannah Montana playlist in stores on March 24, which is SO FUN. I’ll for sure be perched inside Starbucks all day just for the nostalgia boost.
My Honest Review of Hannah’s Secret Popstar Refresher at Starbucks
I usually find special collab drinks kind of gimmicky, but I can say with 100% certainty that I loved this. It’s totally something I’d order on my own, but I wouldn’t be creative enough to think of!
A drink with any of Starbucks’ cold foams would be a win for me, but the raspberry cold foam paired with the raspberry syrup in the drink was a 10/10. I love how it was sweet and refreshing — and I was so impressed with how it tasted like a whole new flavor profile. It seems like I’ve gotten a Strawberry Acai Refresher a million times, and I wouldn’t have been able to guess that is the base.
The drink kind of has a fruit punch vibe, with a very strong raspberry flavor. The fruity sip also smells amazing, likely due to the cold foam, and it’s SO pretty, which is always a bonus. I love how it turned a purple-pink ombré color after I took a few sips!
You might assume that a dairy-based cold foam and a nondairy refresher would be weird together, but I honestly loved the combination and didn’t notice curdling or anything like that. I would absolutely recommend this drink to anyone looking for something totally new from Starbucks. I can’t say if this drink has the Hannah or Miley stamp of approval, but it has mine — I went back again for another the next day!
