Digital cameras are all the rage right now, and it’s easy to see why. They feel so nostalgic in a world full of high-res cell phone photos, plus they give you a reason to put your phone down. One of the coolest digital cameras on the market right now is the Camp Snap, which gives off the feel of a film camera, since it doesn’t have a screen to see what you’re taking a photo of and applies a filter to your photos that give them a vintage look.

On June 2, the brand launched a new version of the viral camera: the Camp Snap 2

What Is the Camp Snap 2 Camera?

Camp Snap 2 is the same screen-free, digital, reusable, disposable-looking camera that shoots like a vintage camera but saves the images digitally to easily transfer to your phone, with new and updated features.

One upgrade I’m super excited about is the four new translucent colorways: strawberry splash, blue rush, twisted lime, and tangerine drift. Of course, Camp Snap 2 still comes in the classic stealth black, chestnut brown, arctic white, forest green, and sunbeam yellow colorways, too. The camera is currently selling with “special introductory pricing” of $69.95 on the Camp Snap website.

Another new feature is that now there are six interchangeable filters built right into the camera, no app required. The filters include standard, analog, black & white, and three vintage options.

For the kids, there’s also a way to lock the filter button and the memory card door to make the camera more user-friendly. Parents can unlock these features at any time, too

More technical improvements are a faster shutter button, better battery-saving technology, and a 15% slimmer device than the original Camp Snap (so it’s more pocket- or handbag-friendly)/ There’s also a 30.5mm filter thread for an optional screw-on filter lens, and lastly, it’s tripod compatible.

Camp Snap 2 still has the features that made the original so popular: an 8MP image sensor, a pre-installed 4GB microSD card, and it comes with a USB-C cable to charge the camera and transfer photos.

Why I Love the New Camp Snap 2 See-Through Cameras

While Camp Snap 2 comes in nine different colors, the most eye-catching ones are the four translucent options in blue, pink, orange, and green. These fun, bright colors are perfect for the summer and the translucent plastic radiates all the nostalgic Y2K energy that everyone loves these days. They remind me of those see-through phones people had in the ‘90s where you could see the inner workings of the technology, just like you can with the new Camp Snap 2 cameras. The candy-coded colors almost remind me of gummies or those retro jelly sandals, too, even though they’re made of hard plastic just like the classic colors.

Beyond being a cool piece of tech, these see-through digital cameras also act as a fun and stylish accessory to throw in your bag for any travel or everyday adventure.
