I absolutely love Jeni’s ice cream. My friends and I may very well be among the chain’s most loyal patrons. The location near my campus stays open until midnight, which has made it a frequent late-night stop — and it’s my benchmark for what great ice cream should taste like (my go-to flavor is Gooey Buttercake). So when Jeni’s announced a Bridgerton collaboration (which also happens to be my favorite Netflix show), I could happily say my expectations were high.

The ice cream collection includes two flavors inspired by the show’s Regency-era decadence: Queen Charlotte’s Sponge Cake and Earl Grey Crème Brûlée. Jeni’s sent me samples of both Bridgerton flavors, and one is unapologetically rich, the other far more restrained. Here’s how they stacked up.

What Is Jeni’s Bridgerton Ice Cream Collection?

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams partnered with Bridgerton to release a limited-edition ice cream lineup inspired by the show’s signature indulgence and excess. The collaboration includes two themed flavors (one that’s in shops already and one that’s coming February 9) that sell for $12 per pint and The Queen’s Diamond Collection, a six-pint assortment that costs $68.

At the center of the collection is the Queen Charlotte Sponge Cake ice cream flavor, the first collaboration flavor that debuted on January 15. It appears as a stand-alone pint and twice within The Queen’s Diamond Collection, which is rounded out with four classic Jeni’s flavors chosen to complement the rich, dessert-forward theme: Brambleberry Crisp, Brown Butter Almond Brittle, Darkest Chocolate, and Gooey Butter Cake. Together, the assortment blends spectacle with familiarity, pairing a Bridgerton-inspired centerpiece with some of Jeni’s most reliable crowd-pleasers.

The second themed ice cream flavor, Earl Grey Crème Brûlée, will be available online February 9 and in Jeni’s scoop shops on February 12.

My Honest Review of Jeni’s Queen Charlotte Sponge Cake Ice Cream

The Queen Charlotte Sponge Cake ice cream is the clear centerpiece of Jeni’s Bridgerton collaboration, and it fully understands the assignment. Inspired by what Jeni’s imagines would be the Queen’s signature dessert, the flavor features almond buttercream ice cream layered with swirls of raspberry-rose jam and pieces of honey sponge cake, all tinted a soft lavender hue (although it looks more pink than lavender).

From the first bite, this flavor is sweet and rich. The almond buttercream base is smooth, with a sweetness that doesn’t give you a toothache. The raspberry-rose jam adds brightness and depth, cutting through the richness just enough to keep each bite interesting, while the honey sponge cake pieces give it a true cake-and-ice-cream effect.

This is the kind of ice cream that feels closer to a plated dessert than something you absentmindedly eat straight from the pint, though I still did exactly that. It’s luxurious, cohesive, and memorable, and easily a flavor I would order regularly when I inevitably head to Jeni’s sometime this week.

My Honest Review of Jeni’s Earl Grey Crème Brûlée Ice Cream

Jeni’s Earl Grey Crème Brûlée ice cream takes a more mild-mannered approach to channeling Regency vibes. Built on a tea-infused salted custard base flavored with bergamot, which is a flavor extracted from Seville oranges, and Earl Grey tea, the ice cream is spun with tiny bits of burnt sugar candy meant to mimic the crackly top of a classic crème brûlée.

This flavor is more restrained and serious, which makes sense given its tea-forward profile. I’ve been seeing more and more tea-flavored ice creams in flavors like matcha to green tea at so many ice cream shops around me, and I love how Earl Grey feels like a natural extension of that trend. The bergamot is present. It’s a little bit sharp without tipping into bitterness, which I appreciated.

Texturally, this one really shines. The burnt sugar pieces add a satisfying crunch that genuinely recalls breaking into the caramelized top of a crème brûlée. While I enjoyed it, I do like my ice cream sweet, and this is a flavor best suited for those who prefer desserts that aren’t overly so. It’s thoughtfully executed, but less immediately cravable for me than the Queen Charlotte Sponge Cake.

My Final Thoughts on Jeni’s Bridgerton Ice Cream Collection

Jeni’s Bridgerton collection just makes sense to me: Jeni’s puts a focus on creative — almost lavish — ice cream flavors, and the Regency era-set Bridgerton is all about decadence.

The Queen Charlotte Sponge Cake is my standout, delivering on flavor and fantasy. It lives up to the hype, and I’m glad it’ll be out to complement my Season 4 viewing. Earl Grey Crème Brûlée offers a more subtle, nuanced option that will appeal to tea lovers and those who prefer a less sugary dessert.

Even without the Bridgerton connection, these pints earn a place among the brand’s strongest offerings. They’re only available for a limited time, so definitely don’t miss out.
