27 Birthday Freebies & Discounts to Use for Your Big Day (from Skincare to Coffee!)

There’s something so special about getting free food and goodies on your birthday. Many of your favorite cafes, restaurants, and retailers offer birthday rewards — from total freebies to fun discounts — but they’re not always easy to find. If you know where to look for them and how to sign up, though, you can celebrate your birthday with free coffee, gifted skincare minis, and more.

To help you out (because who wants to do all this research on their birthday?), I’ve gathered dozens of birthday freebies and discounts and detailed exactly how to get them. Check out all the ways you can treat yourself and celebrate your birthday below. 

As a note, most of these offers require you to be a rewards member for the respective programs (all of them are free!), so enter your birthdate and agree to marketing and email communications when you sign up so you can get updates when your birthday rolls around. (Some offers require you to be a member for a certain amount of time to qualify or to make a purchase beforehand — if that’s the case, it’ll be detailed below — but in all cases, it’s best to sign up as far in advance of your birthday as you can to make sure the system captures it and sends out the reward in time.)

Many of these offers have expiration dates and are good while supplies last at participating locations, so also make sure to check your voucher or coupon whenever you get it. The companies can also modify the rewards at any time, so keep that in mind in case you run into a situation where the store might be out of freebies — but plenty of the brands listed below have an extended time period to redeem, so you can always try again!

Have your eye on an icon glass? Sign up for the Anthroperks program at least 16 days before your birthday, and you’ll get a 20% off coupon in your email two weeks before your birthday, and it’s good for 45 days. Additional terms may apply, so I’d go in-store and make sure the offer applies to what you want to buy.

Update your scents to celebrate your big day. As a My Bath & Body Works Rewards member, you’ll get a free birthday reward on your actual birthday, and it’s valid for 30 days. You can use it on eligible products originally priced at or under $9.95 — some currently available options include moisturizing hand soap, Wallflower refills, and travel-size perfume mist. Find the birthday reward in the wallet section of your app or in your online account. Easily redeem your reward in stores by showing the barcode at checkout; online, add an eligible item to your cart, apply your coupon code, and then you’ll need to pay for shipping.

Self-care is the best birthday gift you can give yourself. As a My Kiehl’s Rewards member, you’ll get a free Lip Balm #1 as a birthday gift. The website doesn’t specify exactly how to redeem your gift, but you should see it in your app or receive an email around your birthday. Like other offers, you can probably get it for free in stores, but an online order will most likely require a minimum purchase. If you’re a die-hard Kiehl’s stan and have racked up points, you can get an additional free gift, depending on your tier.

Keep the pampering going by signing up for the Sephora Beauty Insider program. You can redeem your birthday gift in-store for a free set of mini beauty products (just let the beauty associate know that’s what you want); online, you need to make at least a $25 purchase to get it. And you can redeem it any time during your birthday month (or two weeks before or after your birthday). Currently, the beauty store is offering mini sets from brands like Tower 28, Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare, and Glossier.

More makeup and skincare? Yes, please! Register for Ulta Beauty Rewards to receive a birthday coupon code. You need to sign up for rewards and opt into marketing communications before your birthday month, so do that ASAP if you’re not already a member. Once you’re set up, you can redeem your free travel-size or deluxe sample gift in-store anytime during your birthday month — just show the coupon code you’ll receive in an email or the offers section of the Ulta app. Online, you’ll need to sign in to your rewards account and make a purchase (it just needs to be more than $0, and some exclusions apply), and your free gift will be applied automatically. Current options include products from NARS, Rare Beauty, Tarte, and more.

Another delightfully smelling gift is headed your way when you join the Fragrance Family Rewards program to get a free candle on your birthday. Different tiers get different sizes: a Small Tumbler Candle for Fragrance Fans and a Large Tumbler Candle for Fragrance Lovers. You’ll get the Yankee Candle email reward on or around your birthday, and it’s good for 30 days. You can redeem it in-store by showing an associate your reward at checkout, or online with no minimum purchase by applying the reward from your rewards dashboard, though it’s unclear whether shipping costs apply.

While it might not be a shopping spree, you can get some money toward your next purchase. Get a $5 birthday reward as a member of the Real Rewards program no matter which tier you are. There’s no specified eligibility period, but the company sends the $5 off birthday reward around the first day of your birthday month. American Eagle sends rewards through email, text, your online account, and the app, so keep an eye out during your birthday month. Check your specific reward for an expiration date; you can use it in-store or online.

Get the push you need to finally buy whatever you’ve been eyeing with a little birthday money. Become a Madewell Insider at least three days before the start of your birthday month, agree to marketing communications, and make at least one purchase (no minimum amount is listed) to get a $25 birthday gift toward a Madewell purchase. You should receive it by email or you can find it in the app, and you must use it by the end of your birthday month. Madewell doesn’t list explicit restrictions on the $25 birthday gift, but the rewards site states that “instructions on redemption will be provided in the email,” so read it closely and enjoy your discount!

This one requires longer lead times than some of the others, but there’s a reward on the other side! The first step is to register for the VS & PINK Rewards program. To qualify for the $10 reward on your birthday, join at least two months before your birthday and make at least one purchase in the 12 months prior (with the 12-month period ending two months before your birthday). For example, if your birthday is January 1, 2027, you need to sign up by October 31, 2026, and make a purchase between November 1, 2025, and October 31, 2026. When you’re all set, you’ll get a $10 reward (all tiers get it) in your email or the app within six weeks of your birthday, which you can redeem online or in-store on an item equal to or greater than $10; your reward expires 90 days after the date it was issued. TL;DR: Sign up on time and make a purchase, then keep an eye on your app for details.

If you usually start your day with a morning beverage and there’s a 7 Brew near you, make it your first stop! According to the 7 Brew FAQ page, the chain offers a “free Birthday Drink” for registered 7 Brew Rewards members. Per the FAQ page, “Your birthday reward will automatically load into your account and will be available for one week after your birthday.”

Head to the theater for your birthday treat! As an AMC Stubs Insider, you’ll get a free large popcorn at an AMC theater. Enroll 30 days before the start of your birth month, and your gift will be loaded on the first day of your birthday month — just order online or in person and scan your digital AMC card to get your gift. 

One of the rare freebies that doesn’t require you to be a rewards member — just a Birthday Club member. Create an account online or in the BR app (you can also opt into Baskin-Robbins Rewards), and the birthday coupon will be automatically added to your app on your birthday. It appears the coupon is for a free scoop of ice cream, but you can confirm when you receive your gift in the app.

Become a Flavor Fanatic to get a free “cone-gratulatory surprise” for your birthday! Just make sure you register at least 24 hours before the first day of your birthday month, and you’ll get an email with the birthday offer, which you can redeem at participating Scoop Shops anytime during your birthday month. The offer appears to be a free scoop of ice cream, but your email will include specific details.

CAVA Rewards offers birthday freebies based on the program’s tiers: Sea, Sand, and Sun. As a member of the first two tiers — Sea and Sand — you can get a drink, pita chips, or dessert as a birthday gift. Sun members can get half off a bowl or a pita. Redeem it in-store in the CAVA app by scanning your QR code in “My Rewards” at checkout and letting the team member know you want to use your birthday gift. Online, you can apply the reward at checkout.

If you’re craving a cinnamon roll, you’ll still have to buy it at Cinnabon, but you can get a free drink to go with it. As a Cinnabon Rewards member, you can get a free 16-ounce Cold Brew for your birthday. You can use it through the app, in stores, and online at participating Cinnabon locations, and the reward expires 14 days from the date you were issued it.

Celebrate your big day (and your half-birthday!) with a free frozen custard when you’re a Culver’s Delicious Rewards member. A coupon for a free single Create Your Own Dish with two toppings “should automatically be applied to your Delicious Rewards account on the first day of your birthday month and on the first day of your half-birthday month,” per the rewards FAQ page. It’s good for your entire birthday month. 

Keep the celebrations going with more free coffee! Dutch Rewards members get a free drink up to 32 ounces, which you can find in the “Rewards” section of the Dutch Bros App — the birthday reward expires 30 days after it shows up in your app. If you’re not a member yet, you can even sign up on your birthday and get the free drink reward the next day. Plus, as a new Dutch Rewards member, you get a free medium drink reward when you sign up that’s good for 14 days!

When you’re an IHOP Rewards member, you get (you guessed it!) free pancakes. You’ll have 5 PanCoins automatically loaded to your account on the first day of your birthday month — IHOP refers to a PanCoin as a “crypto-pancake.” You can redeem 3 PanCoins for a short stack, or use all 5 coins for a full stack of Original Buttermilk Pancakes.

Before you cut the cake, treat yourself to some frozen yogurt. Join the Swirl Club or check your app if you’re already a member, and you’ll get a Menchie’s credit to put toward a birthday treat. The amount varies based on your tier: Bronze Tier members get $6, Silver Tier members get $8, and Gold Tier members get $10. Your Menchie’s reward will load to your account seven days before your birthday and expire seven days after, giving you 15 days to use it!

From a sweet treat to a full meal, the Noodles Rewards program offers tier-based rewards. Depending on which one you belong to, you’ll get a free reward for a dessert (Classic tier), small entrée (Signature tier), or regular entrée (Premier tier). Your reward will appear in your app account on your birthday, and it’s good for 30 days.

This might be the most fitting freebie of them all: As a Bundtastic Rewards member, you’ll get a free Bundtlet (a mini cake) for your birthday. You’ll receive an email and/or an in-app notification about a week before your birthday, and it’s valid for seven days after your birthday. You can redeem it in stores by showing your rewards barcode or the email with your birthday notification. 

When you join My Panera Rewards, your birthday treat depends on your tier — but there’s something for everyone. The most basic tier, with no minimum spend, gets a free bakery treat, and the next tier up, with a $300 minimum annual spend, gets a free Pick Two. Sip Club members also get a free Pick Two on their birthday. It’s unclear how you get the rewards, but it’ll likely be through your app account.

Another fro-yo treat is in the cards at Pinkberry. Join Pinkcard rewards to get a free birthday reward loaded to your account seven days before your birthday. Pinkberry doesn’t specify on its website how much the reward is worth, but once it’s on your account, it’s valid for seven days after your birthday.

You might not have “grocery shopping” on your birthday itinerary, but you may want to make a pit stop. Join Club Publix at least 10 days before your birthday to get a “birthday treat on us,” according to the Club Publix website. The Club Publix FAQ doesn’t clarify what the treat is, but you’ll get more information when the perk loads to your account.

Shakes are on offer at the aptly named fast-food spot. Add your birthday to your profile on the Shack App or website and opt into marketing emails at least 24 hours in advance to receive a free regular shake on your birthday! Make sure to redeem your code in all caps either in the app or on the official Shake Shack website — it won’t work for in-store or drive-thru orders.

You might think only coffee is up for grabs here, but you’ve got options. Create a Starbucks Rewards account, and get a complimentary handcrafted beverage, food item, or ready-to-drink bottled beverage for your birthday, per the Starbucks Rewards terms and conditions. You should see the reward in your account on your birthday, and then when you can redeem it depends on your tier. Green Level members must redeem the reward on their birthday, while Gold Level members get seven days, and Reserve Level members have 30 days to use it.

Wetzel’s doesn’t clarify what their birthday reward is, but it’s likely some type of pretzel! As a Wetzel’s Rewards member, you get “a special offer for your birthday,” per the rewards website. According to the FAQs, it’ll load into your account seven days before your birthday and expire seven days after.
