I Finally Found the Perfect Hobby to Cure My Winter Boredom (It’s So Cute and Cozy!)
It’s not easy to find new ways to pass the time in the winter, when the skies are gloomy, snow is all around, and my walk to class is blustery and cold. When the weekend arrives, it can feel like I’m doing the same thing over and over by not being able to go outside.
But recently I found the perfect winter hobby that’s fun and new to me: The Woobles. These learn-to-crochet kits are easy to follow, help cold nights and gray days feel so much cozier, and make for the most adorable apartment or dorm decor to top it all off.
What Is The Woobles Crochet Kit?
The Woobles are crochet kits that come with everything you need to make a cute crocheted creation. Each package comes with step-by-step videos, a pre-started piece so you can get right into the craft, and all the tools and yarn you need for the project. The Woobles are available at three different skill levels — Beginner, Beginner+, and Intermediate — so you can choose a kit that aligns with your crochet ability.
There are also so many different Woobles to pick from. There are craft kits to make all kinds of single projects, from a pineapple or a cup of coffee, to a ghost (with glow-in-the-dark yarn!) or a frog wearing a graduation cap and gown.
Then you have the collabs. Woobles have done a ton of collaborations with all kinds of trending movies, artists, and TV shows, from SpongeBob to Barbie to even KPop Demon Hunters. And finally, there are bundles, which are designed to save you money and time. Bundles are curated to help level up your crochet skills by creating the characters you love the most (you can even build your own bundle).
Single-piece craft kits range from $30 to $45, while the collabs and bundles are a bit pricier, as they tend to come with four-plus Woobles. They range anywhere from $40 to $340 depending on the kit you pick, with many in the mid-range. However, The Woobles website almost always has a sale or discount, and there’s free shipping on all orders over $50.
In addition to buying them directly from The Woobles website, you can find some options at stores like Blick Art Materials, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, and Target.
Why I Love The Woobles
Woobles have become my absolute favorite hobby, as well as favorite gift to give people. They truly are so easy to follow. I started with absolutely no clue how to crochet (seriously, none!) but I’ve since progressed to the Intermediate level and I am even trying to make my own blanket.
Not to mention, having all of the tools and the step-by-step videos are so helpful. You don’t have to worry about buying yarn or following confusing instructions. You’ll learn a ton of different stitches, like the slip stitch, chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, and so many more. The Woobles are the perfect hobby to help pass time this winter — all while I learn new skills!
