I’ve been seeing people online show how they’re adding whimsy into their lives as a way to bring joy into everyday routines — and personally, I love it. From using a special mug for your morning coffee to doing homework with the perfect playlist, the smallest touches can help prevent your days from feeling repetitive and dull. There are so many ways to make your everyday life more playful, and adding new decor into your space is an easy and subtle way to introduce some extra whimsy.

Specifically, this adorable Chip Bag Ceramic Pencil Holder that I came across on Urban Outfitters’ website is just the quirky addition my all-business desk is calling for.

What Is the Urban Outfitters’ Chip Bag Ceramic Pencil Holder?

This $18 organizing cup is designed to look like a mini bag of chips, and it’s the perfect whimsical touch to spice up your desk. Because the main color is a neutral white, it will fit into a variety of dorm aesthetics. I also love the detail of the blue lighthouse scene, the quaint print reading “old-fashioned kettle cooked,” and the crunchy-looking potato chips.

To me, everything is cuter when it is small (think: my cat’s tiny paws) — and this shrunken-chip-bag pencil holder is no exception. It measures 3.25” x 2.9” x 4”, which makes it the perfect size to keep pens handy, collect all your hair ties, or store your crochet hooks (which is how I would use it).

It’s a nice reminder that upping the whimsy in your life does not have to break the bank or be a big deal. Sometimes it is as simple as adding small items to your space that are silly, make you smile, or, in this case, are reminiscent of your favorite snack
