Customization is the secret to Kyla Lemons’ (@kylalemons on TikTok) luxe bedroom in her University of Alabama sorority house: LED lights that spell out her and her roommate’s names above their beds, a gallery of personal framed photos (cleverly affixed to a bulletin board) on the adjacent walls, and show-stopping custom paintings illuminated by picture lights hung near their vanities.
The biggest splurge? The gorgeous, layered throw pillows that adorn the beds, which make a strong case for pattern-mixing with your pillows. Read on to see everything Kyla has to say about her room.
Kyla’s Space
How did you find this space? We are living in [our sorority] house! We always knew we wanted to live in the house. We just adore the little details of the space. My roommate’s sister fully designed our room. She made the vision come to life and executed it so well.
What is your space best known for? I think the paintings by the vanity!
What was the biggest challenge in decorating your space? The biggest challenge was definitely the pictures above the bed. Behind it is a huge bulletin board. It took a lot of time to get the dimensions right and figure out how to get them all to stay up around the board.
Kyla’s Style
How would you define your personal home style? I love to incorporate colors and patterns but still keep things clean and easy to the eye.
What is your favorite element of your space? My favorite thing about my space is, without a doubt, the paintings! They really make the space.

What was your biggest splurge for this space? The pillows all together for both beds cost roughly $1,000. But they’re so worth it.
What was your best budget find for this space and how much did it cost? Most things in this room are from HomeGoods! Always such good budget-friendly finds.
