The “Legendary” $6 Trader Joe’s Snack That’s So Good, I’ve Bought It Every Week for 4 Years

Salty, smooth peanut butter covered in a rich, and conveniently packaged, dark chocolate cup is one of my all-time favorite snacks. 

I’ve tried my fair share of dark chocolate peanut butter cups (at least a dozen brands), and I can confidently say there’s one that towers above the rest. I’d even go as far to say that the Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups are the best to ever exist. Allow me to explain.

I’ve been buying these dark chocolate peanut butter cups for around four years now, and I still can’t get enough. The Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups are made with high-quality ingredients and are free of fillers and preservatives. 

Inside the chocolate exterior is peanut butter made from Virginia peanuts, which are slowly roasted and ground into creamy perfection. The dark chocolate shell doesn’t skimp either, as the chocolate is made from cacao beans for full, chocolatey richness. While they’re slightly smaller than some other brands, these cups contain twice as much peanut butter filling compared with the chocolate shell. It’s a dreamy 2-to-1 ratio, if you ask me. 

The peanut butter cups have been in stores since 2010 and are typically found on shelves above the freezer cases in the frozen foods section. I always grab a container whenever I go grocery shopping, and I usually act fast because I’ve never seen a completely stocked section of the peanut butter cups (shoppers can’t grab them quickly enough!).

With its easy-to-grab packaging, I keep the container at my desk for a little pick-me-up after lunch and even beside my bedside table for a midnight snack.
