As a college student, I’m always on the hunt for groceries that are both affordable and fit in my tiny dorm fridge. My go-to store for that is Trader Joe’s — especially the grocer’s freezer aisle

I’m a huge fan of the store’s frozen meals (the pork bao buns, blueberry waffles, and sweet potato gnocchi are just a few faves), but where the store really excels is desserts. My personal favorite? The Coffee Bean Hold The Cone! Mini Ice Cream Cones. Picture this: Coffee ice cream inside of miniature waffle cones dipped in a dreamy chocolate shell.

They are a permanent fixture on my grocery list — mainly during the summer.

What’s So Great About Trader Joe’s Coffee Bean Hold the Cone! Mini Ice Cream Cones?

These popular miniature cones come in a variety of flavors, including chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. My favorite is coffee bean. The chocolate cone and shell complement the nutty, aromatic coffee ice cream. The strong coffee flavor comes from ground beans that are in the actual ice cream, which gives it less of a “coffee extract” flavor. It is so delicious.

I love how the decoration on the box is reminiscent of an old-timey ice cream parlor. Sometimes, it’s the little things! Plus, unlike other flavors, the Coffee Bean Hold the Cones! are available year-round. So I can snag a box of eight for $3.99 pretty much anytime I want.

What’s the Best Way to Enjoy Trader Joe’s Coffee Bean Hold the Cone! Mini Ice Cream Cones?

I’ve been buying these miniature ice cream cones since I started college two years ago because they’re much cheaper than going out for ice cream (and, in my opinion, taste better anyways!). They are ready-to-eat out of the freezer, so they can be enjoyed on the go, or in your room with friends.
