This $5 “Stick of Butter” Is So Soothing, I Need One to De-Stress STAT
This round of college midterms left me absolutely drained. With papers to write, exams to take, and loads of reading to keep up with, I felt like I was being pulled in *so* many directions — and it’s only made me more overwhelmed thinking about finals coming up in just a month or so. But recently I came across a satisfying find that looks like exactly what I need to de-stress a bit. What is it, you might ask? Well, it’s a stick of butter.
What Is the Sunny Days Squeezy Butter Stress Ball?
Okay, it’s not actually real butter, but this $5 butter-shaped stress ball looks so much like the real thing, and it’s great for letting out some tension throughout the day. The toy is 10 inches long, which is large enough to squish with both of your hands if you’re feeling really worked up.
I don’t own a Squeezy Butter Stress Ball (yet), but from the videos I’ve seen, it appears to have an incredibly foamy texture that allows you to stretch and squeeze it in what looks like such a soothing way. I love that it comes in such realistic packaging that makes it look like a giant stick of butter wrapped in its classic, clear packaging — just like you’d see in a grocery store. It will totally allow me to act on an impulsive thought I’ve had to squash a whole butter stick (it just seems like it would be so satisfying) without wasting food or making a mess.
Why I’m So Obsessed with the Target Squishy Butter
Playing with this butter stick looks so oddly satisfying — it’s no wonder it’s also blowing up on TikTok right now. Commenters on user Taylor Mae’s (@taylormaemcd) video are already wanting to get their hands on one, with one user replying, “I’m 33 and bought one from the mall.”
Another user noted, “We’re all kids at heart.”
That sentiment definitely rings true for me. In college, I took on so many new adult responsibilities and sometimes I miss just feeling like a kid; this stick of butter seems like it would let me embrace my inner child again, thanks to its whimsical design and soothing sensory qualities.
Plus, it’s such a cute and unique piece of decor for any dorm, it’ll really stand out on a desk in the best way possible. My go-to stress reliever used to be slime, but I love this idea so much more because it’s not sticky or messy (yet still stretches the way that slime can). A good stress reliever really can help soothe you through the harder periods of college life. And if it looks like a stick of butter? Even better.
