Summer is my favorite season. I grew up by the beach in Rhode Island, so I will always gravitate toward beachy coastal decor — even in the dead of winter. Bringing that bright and summery feeling to my college space helps me keep my energy up when it’s cold and dark out. I specifically find myself looking at a lot of boho woven pieces.

This beautiful new Target Table Lamp with Woven Base and Woven Shade by Threshold designed with Studio McGee is just what I have in mind. The $70 corded rattan lamp is 14.8×12.2×12.2 inches, and it radiates major beach cabana vibes. The scalloped bottom of the lampshade is giving flower or tropical plant. 

People on TikTok are also raving about this lamp. User @doppiodreamss showed off the charming Target find to followers in a TIkTok video that’s received more than 37,000 views. “omg I NEEED! ❤️,” replied one commenter. 

Another responded, “Omg thats adorable!! On a little vanity it would look gorgeous!” I agree — I think this lamp would be perfect on a vanity/desk. In fact, I personally would style this with my jewelry stand and perfume display on my vanity. 

You could also set it on a classic bedside table, styled with a trinket dish, a book, and a candle (if you’re allowed to have one in your college space, of course).

Even though her heart belongs to the ocean, the mountains are becoming a close contender. Her favorite part of living in Burlington, Vermont, for college is its unique coffee shops. Her perfect day would consist of going to a cute café in the morning, then spending the day at the beach swimming and reading, then ending the day by shopping and getting dressed up for a nice dinner downtown. Through Dorm Therapy, Isabel is excited to be a voice for young adults embarking on their college journeys and she hopes to make this big transition of life more comfortable for others in the same place as her.
