This $9 Cure for Bathroom Counter Clutter Is So Clever (Great for Roommates!)
While I would not trade my adorable college house for anything, I would love to magically outfit it with a second bathroom. Between the three of us that live there, the three boyfriends that occupy the space part-time, and the ever-rotating guests who spend the night on our couch, our bathroom definitely sees a lot of traffic.
It also means that our bathroom is full of clutter, and I’m always looking for ways to better organize it. So, when I saw this TikTok video by Page (@theheartofbloom), I thought it was such a clever solution to the never-ending chaos that happens on our miniature countertop. In the video, she shows how she uses some plastic cups and a clear bin from Target to separate and organize products like skincare, toothbrushes, and toothpaste, while keeping them in one spot.
If you also struggle with a crowded bathroom counter, all you need to do is buy some reusable plastic cups that will fit snugly in a rectangular storage bin. She got her 50-cent plastic cups and $7 storage bin at Target. I recommend testing the fit before you leave the store to make sure you are getting the right container and right number of cups.
To assemble the organizer, place your cups in the bin, and then figure out what you need to store in it. There are multiple ways to use it: You could purchase a cup for each of your roommates, every person getting one cup (you can each pick a different color!) to fill, and that’s all that can stay on the bathroom counter. Another option is to keep all the cups to yourself, separating products by use. I would probably fill one cup with my morning skincare routine products; one with my toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste; and a final cup with my nighttime routine items.
Or, if your home is the hosting house like mine, you could fill a cup with lots of products for your guests when they come to visit, like spare toothbrushes, toothpaste, and a hairbrush.
No matter how you decide to use this organizing hack, it is a cheap way to curb your countertop chaos and ensure that all your products — and your roommates’ — have some order.
