Whenever I need to lower my spending (like I’m doing right now), one of the first cuts I make is picking up drive-thru coffee. As much as I love it, the cost begins to rack up. So now I’m making more coffee at home, but I’ll admit that it doesn’t taste quite the same.

My new solution? Stumptown’s Cold Brew with Oatly Variety Pack. I can get three individual coffee cartons in three different flavors — each for less than my favorite drive-thru coffee. Coffee-shop quality for less without leaving the house? Yes, please!

Stumptown Coffee Roasters’ Cold Brew with Oatly Variety Pack Is Like Having a Coffee Shop in My Kitchen

Stumptown Coffee Roasters has been around since the late 1990s and places a big emphasis on direct trade with its partners. The brand even claims “to have pioneered the Direct Trade model of sourcing green coffee.” So you know the coffee you’re getting is going to be seriously good-quality — and seriously delicious.

While Stumptown sells bags of whole coffee beans (its Holler Mountain blend was one of The Kitchn team’s faves in our medium-roast coffee bean taste test!), I was immediately drawn to the Cold Brew with Oatly Variety Pack (what can I say; I love a cold coffee). The flavor options are what really got me: It comes with rich Chocolate, cinnamony Horchata, and the everyday classic Original. The variety pack comes with one of each carton for a total of three cartons that are 11 ounces each — which is close in size to a Starbucks Tall.

But, even better, one carton from this variety pack is cheaper than the equivalent Starbucks order — especially because the variety pack is on sale for just $13 right now (or about $4.33 per carton, compared to $6 at Starbucks for a similar drink).

My Honest Review of Stumptown Coffee Roasters’ Cold Brew with Oatly Variety Pack

As soon as the variety pack showed up at my door, I popped the cartons straight into the fridge. I decided to try the Original carton first; it seemed only right. It was just what I needed first thing in the morning: robust coffee, creamy oat milk, and a little bit of sweetness. I usually like my coffees on the sweeter side, and these delivered, given that the Original and Chocolate versions have the same amount of sugar as my Starbucks order.

I can happily say that I really like all three flavors, but my favorite has to be Horchata. It has a light cinnamony note that is warm without feeling too heavy. It goes beautifully with the strong coffee and the slightly salty oat flavor.

If I was so inclined, I could buy the individual flavors in packs of 12 or in single cartons. But personally, I’ll be sticking with the variety pack, so I can change it up all the time. Sorry to my favorite coffee drive-thrus, but I basically have a coffee shop in my fridge now.
