This $12 Organization Hack Will Instantly Declutter Your Drawers
I am one of those people who likes to ensure that everything in my home has a proper space. It helps me to feel organized — even though my living area is tiny.
That being said, there are some pesky items like reusable straws that never seem to have a perfect storage solution. So, when I came across this Tik Tok video by Ally (@oakavehouse) that highlighted a pretty ingenious fix, I was intrigued.
This acrylic straw holder easily attaches to the back of a cabinet door with sticker-like patches. This organizational tool is the perfect way to store metal and glass straws near the cups you’ll use them with. It also helps to declutter your silverware drawer, junk drawer, or wherever else you stored them before. You might need to play around with the placement a bit to make sure your door will still close all the way, but at just 9.3 inches wide and 6.5 inches tall, this holder should definitely fit.
The clear acrylic design also makes it easy to see all of your straws before you grab one.
One thing to be aware of with this item is to make sure your straws are securely in the holder when you put them away. One commenter mentioned she accidentally missed the bottom tray while sliding a glass straw in and it dropped and shattered. To avoid that, just be mindful of the straws being all the way in the base before letting go.
If you’re not someone who has an abundance of reusable straws, this organizer is also perfect for other items like chopsticks or coffee stirrers. Even kebab skewers would fit inside. This single organizer can help to store a variety of kitchen tools that might not otherwise have a designated spot.
I’m a big fan of anything that clears out my busy silverware drawer, and this organizer does exactly that.
