Pink, floral, and soft: That’s Tiffany Chang’s (@tiffanyachang on Instagram) room in a cozy nutshell. The senior at Stanford says her space is inspired by Parisian decor, and she used textures, soft lighting, and delicate accents to bring it to life. She got creative during planning, using Canva to visualize her space and finalize which decor would work best, and the result is très chic

Tiffany’s Space

What’s your space best known for? My space is more of a place for me to relax and unwind away from the busy college life. At the end of the day I want to come back to a room that feels like home and that I love, and my dorm is exactly that.

Tiffany’s Style

Define your personal home style: My style is soft, feminine, and elegant with a cozy twist — think fluffy textures, blush pink accents, and warm lighting. I’m inspired by Pinterest dorm makeovers, TikTok cozy room tours, and the romantic, timeless vibe of Parisian chic interiors.

What’s your favorite element of your space? My favorite element is the cozy lamp setup on my nightstand and the hanging light fixture above the mirror. It makes the whole space feel warm and inviting.

What’s your proudest DIY or product hack? I’m not sure if this counts as a DIY hack but in terms of planning how you want your room or dorm to look, I would highly recommend visualizing everything you are getting in a Canva file. That is what I did to get the closest picture of what the final product would look like, and it helped a lot in terms of seeing which patterns for the rug didn’t match and choosing throw pillows.

Tiffany’s Advice

What was your biggest challenge in decorating your space? Luckily this year I was able to get my own room, so I wasn’t working with limited dorm restrictions and space, but I think the biggest challenge is finding renter-friendly decor. Since I couldn’t paint or make permanent changes, I layered textures (throws, pillows, rugs) and used renter-friendly decor like wall art and soft lighting to make it feel personal and elevated.

What’s your best tip for optimizing a small space? Use multipurpose items, like an ottoman with storage or a nightstand that is cute but also acts as extra storage space. Another tip is to really use the space under your bed for storage! Soft lighting — lamps or string lights — is also something I would emphasize to make the space feel warm and personal, even with harsh dorm walls.
