Being a college student can be utterly … exhausting. After staying up way past midnight studying for exams, all I want is to curl up in bed and get some much-needed rest. And the game-changer to getting a good night’s sleep is a proper mattress topper. I was given the opportunity to try out the SleepyHead Super Topper, and here are my thoughts on why it is a great option for a college student’s sleep schedule.

Quick Overview

A Quick Look At the SleepyHead Super Topper

  • Cooling gel and copper memory foam mattress topper
  • 2 and 3-inch options made to fit a twin XL
  • Domestic, made in the USA product
  • Removable, machine washable CoolTech 2.0 cover
  • OEKO-TEX certified for textiles and CertiPUR-US foam certified

SleepyHead Super Topper Design Features that Stand Out

This super mattress topper is made specifically with college students in mind — and has over 2,000 five-star reviews. I tested out the 2-inch twin XL size, which fits perfectly on the lofted beds in my dorm. The Super Topper is made of a combination of gel and copper memory foam, providing cooling benefits and antimicrobial properties. The copper-based memory foam supports spinal alignment that fits with your body to prevent waking up all sore and achey. Copper even helps to repel bacteria and dust mites, which makes the SleepyHead Super Topper great for skin and allergies.

The topper has a removable cover, called the CoolTech 2.0, that is designed to be breathable, sweat-wicking, and machine washable. It also has elastic bands on each corner that grip the mattress corners, and a nonslip design that keeps your comfort in place all night long. In addition to the 2- and 3-inch twin XL topper, it also comes in twin, full, full XL, queen, and king sizes.

How the SleepyHead Topper Performed

I’ve been using my SleepyHead mattress topper for about a month now, and the difference has been clear. My old mattress topper was too small for the bed, so I constantly had to shove it back into place after tossing and turning all night. My SleepyHead topper, on the other hand, stays strongly in place all night long, no matter how restless I am in my sleep. And it is the perfect size for my twin XL mattress, the edges hang ever so slightly over the mattress, giving the effect of actually expanding the bed.

I love the memory foam support of the super topper. The structure molds to the shape of my back and neck, and is so comfy that it’s truly difficult to get out of bed for my morning classes. Plus, the cooling gel stops me from waking up uncomfortable and sweaty.
