When I was a kid, I always looked forward to Easter — especially the part where I hunted for plastic eggs my dad had hidden in our backyard after we got home from church. Year after year, there was one coveted candy I always hoped was inside: Reese’s peanut butter cups (usually it was the minis or egg-shaped ones).

Ahead of this Easter, the brand added some festive touches to its classic big cup. Naturally, I was curious to see how the new Spring Sprinkles cup compared to the OG. I got my eager hands on some samples, and I ripped open the bright yellow and orange wrapper to get to tasting.

What You Should Know About Reese’s Spring Sprinkles Big Cup

Studded with colorful sprinkles shaped like bunnies, chicks, and eggs, this big cup is ready for spring. (Who isn’t?) Longtime Reese’s fans are probably familiar with fun fillings — like lava fudge, caramel, and even puffs and pretzels for added texture — but this is the first time sprinkles have gotten an invite to the party.

The Spring Sprinkles cups officially launched in January and are available in standard, king size, big cup, and miniatures. All sizes are available at retailers nationwide for a limited time only. (Prices vary per retailer.)

My Honest Review of Reese’s Spring Sprinkles Big Cup

Chocolate and peanut butter is one of my all-time favorite flavor combinations (as you can see in this glowing ice cream review). The classic Reese’s peanut butter cup is outstanding on its own, so I was interested to see what the sprinkles added to the mix. One bite in, and I was SHOOK by three things: how big the sprinkles were, how many there were, and how much of a crunch they had.

These aren’t your everyday sprinkles (you know, the ones that typically come on a soft-serve cone). They’re jumbo — just like the cup. Roughly the size of a lentil, they have real heft and an audible crunch. It’s a welcome addition to the creamy milk chocolate and ever-so-slightly grainy peanut butter filling.

I love the festive touch; the pops of color are fun, and the Easter shapes are pure nostalgia. While I’m not sure it dethrones the classic, I’d happily take two (or three) in my Easter basket
