This year, western-inspired decor has been everywhere — cowboy hats and boots, horseshoes, cacti, faux hides, and more are all over TikTok and in stores.

The western trend has also ushered in several smaller trend spinoffs. There’s coastal cowgirl, featuring breezy neutrals, beach-meets-cowgirl vibes, and occasionally pink like in Reese Witherspoon’s niece’s California cowgirl dorm room. And then there’s yeehaw core, which combines the western aesthetic’s cowgirl boots and cacti with disco balls, phrases like “howdy” and, this time, a whole lot of pink.

Now, Michaels is getting in on the yeehaw core aesthetic with its new “Vegas Cowgirl” collection, filled with bold decor pieces like a disco ball boot meant to sit on top of a table and a disco ball hat wall hanging that you can toss onto a Command hook. There are cowboy boot vases and prints, and pink cactus candles. The “Vegas” of it all comes by way of some playing card-themed pieces, like a trinket dish designed to look like the Queen of Hearts card. Oh, and did I mention that, barring the sparkly stuff, almost everything is pink in this collection?

It’s all so fun, and some more cute “Vegas Cowgirl” pieces for sale are the throw pillows. And there are *options*.

The first one is a Playing Card Pillow for $19.99 — it’s a pink and white vertical pillow with an Ace of Hearts playing card design. It’s adorable and sassy at the same time, and it’s my personal fave — like it’s a need!

The next one is the Darlin’ Pink Pillow which is $24.99, and it’s exactly what you think it is: a pink pillow with the word “Darlin’” written across in white cursive. If you love having words on your pillow, this is such a good option.

The last one I want to highlight is totally giving Beyonce’s “Cowboy Carter” album, IMO. The Stars & Fringe Throw Pillow is pricier than the other two, coming at $39.99. It has this chambray-looking base with three silver stars on top and a silver fringe below. It’s a bit more classic Western-inspired, with no pink — but it does feature a bunch of metallic, of course.

Isabel is an incoming sophomore at the University of Vermont. She is studying public communication. She grew up in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, where she frequented the beach often during the summer. Even though her heart belongs to the ocean, the mountains are becoming a close contender. Her favorite part of living in Burlington, Vermont, for college is its unique coffee shops. Her perfect day would consist of going to a cute café in the morning, then spending the day at the beach swimming and reading, then ending the day by shopping and getting dressed up for a nice dinner downtown. Through Dorm Therapy, Isabel is excited to be a voice for young adults embarking on their college journeys and she hopes to make this big transition of life more comfortable for others in the same place as her.
