Michaels’ new Gala Christmas collection has arrived, and it’s making me want to go see The Nutcracker *right now.* The collection features so many adorable items, from the cutest Nutcracker snow globe (such a good Secret Santa gift!) to these festive fluffy Christmas trees that I’m currently convincing my housemates to let us buy for our living room.

But I’m also especially into the faux books. Faux book boxes are not only a cute decor trend — they’re a clever way to establish that academia aesthetic while also giving yourself more storage space in your room.

TikTokers @glamgirlem and @isacrissy showed off the Michaels storage books in each of their videos about the new Michaels collection, highlighting how there are three options in three different sizes. The pink A Christmas Carol faux book, priced at $11.99, is the smallest; I’d personally store nail polish in there. The Night Before Christmas and Other Christmas Stories book box is the $14.99 medium-sized choice — it’s perfect for storing pens and other stationary items. And the biggest faux book is The Nutcracker & The Mouse King for $17.99; it’s large enough for keeping extra toiletries, like hair products!

The items are available in-store as well as on Michaels’ website, as @glamgirldem pointed out in the comment section. One user commented, “Oooooh my God I’m so buying a storage box just to stash these for when I have my own house.” Another commented, “The Nutcracker is my favorite so I’m literally running.”

Rather than run, grand jeté over to your nearest Michaels for some amazing holiday dorm decor with secret storage as a bonus.
