Lay’s potato chips are some of the best on the market. While its classic flavor is an OG for a reason, the brand has come out with a host of limited-edition flavors over the years — from tailgating-themed flavors like cheesy Buffalo dip to globally inspired flavors like tzatziki. In fact, Ali, our associate groceries editor, tried ALL the Lay’s flavors and ranked them from best to worst.

If you’re curious what you can look forward to from the brand in 2026, we’ve got you covered. As revealed by Instagram content creator @snachwithzach, Lay’s is coming out with two new Baked flavors in January 2026: Roasted Garlic and Herb, and Loaded Baked Potato.

For those unfamiliar with Lays’ Baked flavors, as per the name, they are baked, not fried, and made with olive oil.

But that’s not the only thing Lay’s is changing in the new year. Its packaging is also getting a major makeover. According to Pepsi Co, the new Lay’s bags will feature a more distinct sun and rays, as well as an image of potatoes, symbolizing the effort the brand and their farmers take to create the products. Lay’s also recently pledged to get rid of all artificial flavors and colors by the end of 2025.

Previously, Lay’s Baked came in Original, Barbecue, and Sour Cream & Onion, so fans are thrilled that they’re finally getting some new additions to the lineup. One person wrote, “Absolutely love Baked Lay’s and it’s so nice to see new additions! Forever missing the Roasted Garlic & Ranch Baked Ruffles from way back. Roasted Garlic & Herb Baked Lay’s may very well be what we’ve been waiting for since the early/mid 2010s.” I’ll definitely be grabbing a bag or two once they finally hit grocery store shelves.

Will you be trying the new Lay’s Baked flavors? Let us know in the comments.

For the past 5+ years, I've worked in communications and managed companies' social media accounts. Before joining The Kitchn, I served as the Culinary Editorial Fellow for Food Network. My work has been published in Food Network, Whetstone Magazine, and NYU’s Bite Magazine. While working in the nonprofit world, I decided to further my education at New York University where I earned my MA in Food Studies. My aim is to highlight diverse voices in the food world through my storytelling. I am also passionate about ensuring that all people have access to food and have worked for the nonprofits Just Food and West Side Campaign Against Hunger advocating for food justice and food security. In my free time, I love trying new plant-based foods, listening to music or podcasts, going to concerts, and being in nature. I’ve also loved baking since I was a kid and find it very therapeutic, so I will jump on any chance I get to whip up a sweet treat.
