Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: As I approached my second year of law school (only one more year to go!!), I decided to take a big leap into young adulthood and scratch two things off my bucket list: (1) live alone and (2) live in a city.

This studio is my first time living without roommates, and hence, my first time with total freedom to decorate however I wish. Naturally, this meant pink, plants, and disco balls! I moved into this studio with the intention of making every inch of the 476 square feet reflect my personality and what makes me the happiest. Law school can be tough at times, so I wanted a space that felt like pure positivity and sunshine to get me through long study days.

Gallery Wall

I am a law student with ADHD who adores all forms of artistic expression and creativity. While I love studying the law and all of the reading and writing that comes with it, I felt myself falling into a black and white textbook world. This was difficult for me because my ADHD brain loves nothing more than color and novelty. I wanted my home to be a place where my mind could have total creative freedom. I desired a space that was inspiring, filled with colors and patterns, and that nurtured the artistic part of my soul. I believe that creative lawyers are the most powerful lawyers. I want to become a lawyer who thinks outside the box and isn’t afraid to try different approaches to solving problems. My home reflects this philosophy.

Couch Area

What is your favorite room and why? I live in a studio — so, my whole place is essentially one room! With that being said, I love my one room, but I particularly love my couch area with the gallery wall. I have always loved interior design that strikes a balance between black/white and color. My gallery wall is a mix of black/white patterns and hues of sage, peach, yellow, and pink. I chose artwork that reflects my love of fashion, nature, travel, and quotes. The gallery wall feels like everything I love mixed together in one slightly chaotic, but nonetheless beautiful arrangement.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? The last thing I bought for my home is the pink feathered lamp standing beside my bed. I discovered it walking around HomeGoods one day with my dad and knew I had to have it in my life immediately. It’s fluffy, pink, and overall fantastic! It brings so much life and light into my bed area.

Any advice for creating a home you love? My best advice is to think about what type of environment you feel the most alive and at peace in. For some people, they feel the most centered in a space that is neutral and calming. For me, I like to be surrounded by art, colors, patterns, and textures. I feel most at peace in a space that allows me to be freely creative and wholly myself.
