This Limited-Edition Latte Tastes Like My Favorite Summer Dessert (It’s Delicious!)
If there’s one simple pleasure that brings me more joy in life than any other, it is the first taste of a freshly made latte. Usually I look no further than my local barista for my handcrafted espresso drinks, and more often than not my order stays the same: iced oat milk latte.
However, every now and then I like to change it up, and recently a new canned latte burst onto the scene that has completely captured my attention. Esteemed coffee roaster La Colombe just dropped a limited-edition S’mores Latte that I can’t stop thinking about.
The draft latte might give baristas a run for their money. It’s inspired by all of the flavors that come together in a delicious s’mores dessert, which is basically the taste of summer. It’s got layers of chocolate, toasted marshmallowy sweetness, and even some graham cracker flavor. It’s made from real milk and cold brew, and somehow manages the texture of a freshly made latte.
“This latte is absolutely delicious without being too sweet. It’s the perfect way to start your morning or serves as a great afternoon pick-me-up. I sipped it while taking a walk and can’t wait to drink it again!” says Paulina Jayne Isaac, senior editor of news & features at The Kitchn.
Judging by the reviews, coffee drinkers from all across the country are loving it, too. “These are so good! They taste exactly like s’mores!” wrote one reviewer. “This is your best flavor; consider keeping them around permanently,” said another.
While I’m not turning my back on my barista or their latte art anytime soon, these canned lattes are definitely great to keep on hand for when I don’t have time to head to my nearest coffee shop.
