This Retro Kodak Camera Bag Charm Doubles as a Real Digital Camera (It’s Finally Back in Stock!)
Considering the bulkiness of the keychain I carry around everywhere I go, combined with each of my bags having their own bag charm, I probably don’t need another thing to lug around. But when I came across this TikTok video by Mylene (@mylenesmind) featuring a bag charm camera (yes, you read that right!), I knew I needed to take a closer look.
The camera first dropped in September 2025, but it sold out quickly. Luckily, it’s now back in stock.
What Is the Kodak Charmera Camera?
If you haven’t seen this camera come across your feed, it’s a camera and accessory all in one. The camera is about 2 inches long, 0.8 inch wide, and 1 inch tall — not much bigger than a ChapStick tube. It’s a real, functioning camera that can take photos and videos, and while the images are much lower-res than what you’re used to taking on your iPhone (1.6 mexapixels of resolution compared with 48 megapixels if you have an iPhone 14 or a newer model) that’s all part of its charm. It also comes with a keychain attachment, so you can connect it to your purse or belt loop. It doesn’t come with a memory card, so you’ll need to buy a MicroSD separately (it supports 1GB-128GB memory cards).
What makes opening your Kodak Charmera extra exciting is the fact that it’s a blind box, meaning you don’t know which of the seven styles you’ll get when you order it. They’re all super cute, retro designs featuring primary colors, so you really can’t miss. Plus, each camera comes programmed with seven different photo filters and four digital photo frames (aka cute borders) you can add to make your pictures extra cute.
A tip for using the camera: In a review of the Kodak Charmera from mattlovescameras.substack.com, Matt Murray writes that the camera can get a little overwhelmed if you take photos in fast succession, so if you’re used to taking a burst of photos on your iPhone, you’ll have to slow down a bit. Matt also mentions that each box comes with the camera, a collector card, brochure, keychain and a USB cable.

Due to its popularity, this camera was nowhere to be found for a while. Luckily, it’s back in stock now, and you can find it at retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Urban Outfitters, and even some photo shops like B&H Photo.
Why Is the Kodak Charmera So Popular?
Lately, my whole friend group has been obsessed with taking photos on digital cameras and posing with Snapchat filters like it’s 2016. I’ve been chasing the nostalgic high of physical media and timeless photos, and the Kodak Charmera seems like such a fun way to bring more of that into my life — and onto my keychain.
Of course, another part of the fun with this mini Kodak camera is the blind box element. It both removes the need for me to choose a design and makes for a fun surprise. The TikTok I where I first saw the Charmera even refers to it as a “Labubu for camera nerds,” which is about all the convincing I need.
