KALLSUP Portable Bluetooth speaker - pink

In my humble opinion, a good Bluetooth speaker is a college essential. I always used mine in my dorm (at a reasonable volume, of course) while hanging out and getting ready with friends, and it’s been a staple ever since. Even as a recent grad, I don’t think I could shower without one — I use it in my bathroom for all my sing-along needs.

It’s not easy to find a speaker that’s so cute you want to leave it out as decor, but IKEA may have just nailed it with the Kallsup Bluetooth Speaker

What Is the IKEA Kallsup Bluetooth Speaker?

The IKEA KALLSUP Portable Bluetooth Speaker costs $10 and comes in three colors: white, hot pink, and yellow-green. It measures less than 3 inches tall, but don’t underestimate it. The speaker has a Bluetooth range of at least 10 meters (about 32 feet), and when it’s fully charged, the battery lasts up to 9 hours at 50% volume.

You have to buy the USB-C cable and USB power adapter separately (or use ones you already own), but once you have the charging cables, it’s fully rechargeable. Here’s one of the coolest features: You can connect multiple speakers to the same device, so you can play your favorite album out of several speakers at once. In fact, according to Yanko Design, you can connect up to 100 speakers at a time — if you ever find yourself needing to use 100 Bluetooth speakers.

Why It’s Great for a Dorm

This speaker is a really nice option for a college dorm or apartment because its size makes it easy to move around. You can set it on your desk, bedside table, or even dresser. The bright color options are also very Y2K, and the simple, clean-lined design makes the speaker look so cute as decor.

Its small size and plastic construction might make you question its quality, but an average 4.5-star rating from 300 reviews on the IKEA website (232 of which are 5 stars, at the time of writing) suggests this speaker is the real deal. “This sounds surprisingly good for its small size!” according to one review.

Another review hypes the size and price: “This portable Bluetooth speaker is absolutely awesome in sound quality, performance, size, weight, and appearance. In addition, the pricing is perfect! Wonderful!”

Other reviews describe it as “no fuss,” “easy to connect,” and “sound[s] amazing.” Some reviews call out the battery not lasting as long as they’d like, so you may want to keep it near the charging cord if you’re playing it at full volume or using it throughout the day.

The standout feature for me is still the ability to connect multiple speakers — you and all your roommates can have one to maximize your dance party potential! TikTok user @buzzshouse posted a video sharing the Kallsup speaker as one of their “best purchases of 2026,” and the video shows three speakers stacked on top of each other, which I think makes them look even more like decor.
