It’s almost Halloween, and I’m most excited about the treats (keep your tricks). You probably think of sharing your favorite candy when it comes to spreading some spooky season joy, but this time of year is also about being so cozy. Making a boo basket for your bestie or your roommate is the best of both worlds because you can share their go-to sweet treat and other surprises like snuggly slippers.

Boo baskets are a newer Halloween staple, and they’re the cutest way to show appreciation for your favorite people. Gifting more than one item can add up quickly, though, so I put together a cute basket anyone will love, all for under $35.

What Is a Boo Basket?

A boo basket is basically the sweetest Halloween care package you can put together. When they first became popular in 2023, there was a tradition to leave the basket in front of the recipient’s door and stay anonymous, which you can totally do if you want to! There’s usually a mix of candy (because, Halloween) and comfort items like a seasonal mug. Plus, it’s so easy to personalize a basket for whomever you’re gifting it to. Even if you don’t know their favorite candy, you can include a classic Halloween treat to make sure they feel the spirit of the season.

And just because it has the term “basket” in the name doesn’t mean you have to use an actual basket — although if you have one, even better! You could also use a cute gift bag or a reusable tote that’s part of the present.

Make a Boo Basket for Under $35

It can be easy to go overboard on a boo basket when you’re making them for your favorite people, so I put together a four-piece basket that costs under $35. Depending on your budget, you could include everything here, or pick out a couple items that your friends might like.

Whether you’re making one for your roommate, your bestie, or even yourself (I’m all for self-love!), here’s a collection of items to include that are so good, it’s scary.
