Some of your best memories probably involve the guests you’ve welcomed into your home. And one Tiktok user found a great way to immortalize her visitors with the cutest piece of wall art. In a recent video, Meg (@meghanrmcd) gives viewers a tutorial on how to make a “Guest Check” board for their rooms.

How to Make Your Own “Guest Check” Board

Of course you could have your guests sign so many different things to memorialize their visits, but TikTokers love this take on the trending “Guest Check” template. It’s a fun take on a hotel or restaurant receipt (because being a houseguest in your home is that comfortable right?) and could even be a play on words, literally “checking” which guests you’ve had over just by looking at the frame.

To make this at home, all you need is a Guest Check print and a thin poster frame. Meg links her own customized print in the video, however Etsy has a set of six and a cute pink option as well.

The frame Meg uses is an 18 x 24 poster frame from Target, but any normal poster frame can work for this DIY — as long as its dimensions fit the ones of your chosen Guest Check print.

Once you’ve gathered these pieces, all you need to do is insert your poster into the frame, and you’ll have created your board. Meg suggests that placing the poster in front of the glass makes it easier for guests to sign. Once it’s covered in signatures from your friends and other visitors, move it behind the glass to transition it into a display piece.

If your housing doesn’t allow you to use nails to hang up frames, then opting for a Command hook or Command tape on the back of the board is a great alternative.

Find a Pre-Made Guest Book Option

If you prefer to go the no-assembly-required route, Etsy also has pre-framed “Guest Check” boards to match any aesthetic.

Whichever option you choose, this wall art will be a much more satisfying way to look back on fond memories than scrolling through your Snapchat memories. Another fun idea: Set up a “draw yourself for guests at your next party, and be sure to frame the results.
