Whether you’re planning something big in your apartment or just squeezing a few friends into your dorm with snacks and a speaker, finding the perfect Galentine’s Day ideas for February 13 is a must. It’s the best excuse to celebrate the people who make your life in college so much better.

I love using it as a reason to do something a little extra with my friends, even if that just means comfy pajamas, a cozy movie lineup, and a chaotic snack spread. Whether you’re planning a themed party, eating pink snacks, crafting something cute, or staying in for a cozy reset night, there’s no wrong way to celebrate. Below are fun and creative Galentine’s Day ideas for whatever you’re in the mood for.

Galentine’s Day Party Ideas

When you want to really go all out and enjoy your friends’ company, here are some fun ways to level up your plans for the night (or day!).

Throw a pajama party with a movie marathon

Keep it simple: pajamas, cozy blankets, and a rom-com (or comfort movie) marathon. Snacks are non-negotiable. You could even buy matching pajamas or coordinate a color to make it feel extra special. If you need some movie inspo, check out classics like Legally Blonde, Mamma Mia!, or Girls Trip.

Have a dress-up theme night

Pick a theme like Barbiecore, all pink, or red-lip night, and make sure all your friends get the memo. Make sure you have coordinating decor and snacks to really drive home the vibe. It makes the night feel extra special and gives you an excuse to take pictures.

Belt it out with a karaoke night

Nothing bonds a group faster than screaming early 2010s pop. Whether you use YouTube or a karaoke machine, it’s a low-effort party that turns iconic quickly.

Set up a PowerPoint party

Each friend makes a three- to five-slide presentation on a topic you set. To make sure you all catch the giggles, you can try ideas like celebrity crush rankings, chaotic opinions, or “my beige flags.”

Play games with a Galentine’s twist

Bring out Uno, Cards Against Humanity, or Jackbox, but add a prize for winners (e.g., mini candy bags, sheet masks, lip balms). It doesn’t have to cost a fortune, and you can all pool together some money beforehand to make it less of a burden on the host. You can also make a rule that nobody can win twice, so everyone goes home with a prize.

Make vision boards and practice self-care

Put on an inspirational playlist, pass around magazines, and make vision boards together. Set the scene with mood lighting and calming scents, and you can also do face masks and skincare while you craft.

Galentine’s Day Food Ideas

Food is the centerpiece of every good celebration, but it doesn’t have to be fancy or time-consuming. These Galentine’s Day food ideas are cute, easy, and perfect for sharing.

Create a build-your-own-board station

This one will do best with a little group effort. Have everyone bring a different food in some shade of pink or red. Make sure they bring enough for everyone to have some, and then provide plates or mini boards for everyone to create their own edible masterpieces.

Put together a Galentine’s Day snack mix

Combine popcorn, white chocolate-covered pretzels, red and pink M&M’s, white chocolate chips, and your other favorite Valentine candy in a big bowl. Think of it as the “candy salad” trend, but with red, white, and pink goodies.

Layer strawberry “shortcake” cups

Galentine’s Day requires a sweet treat. Start with store-bought pound cake, then add whipped cream, and strawberries in small clear cups. It looks fancy but takes like 5 minutes.

Make heart-shaped pasta

Buy heart-shaped pasta and top it with your favorite sauce. You could even have a couple sauces, like Alfredo and regular tomato sauce so people have options. You’ll need a full kitchen for this one, but if you’re only working with a dorm room that has a microwave, you can opt for TikTok-viral Buldak Carbonara Ramen that comes in a cute pink package.

Dip strawberries in chocolate

All you need is a microwave, chocolate chips, fresh strawberries, and some parchment paper to cool them on. It’s the ultimate Galentine’s Day dessert.

Put together a waffle bar

Galentine’s Day is widely considered to be the brainchild of the show Parks & Recreation. Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope brings together her friends and says it’s all about “ladies celebrating ladies.” One of Knope’s other favorite things? Waffles! Set out frozen waffles (with access to a toaster or a microwave for softer waffles), thawed frozen fruit (you can cut up fresh fruit, too, but frozen might be easiest), whipped cream, chocolate chips, and syrup so everyone can build their own masterpiece.

Make a DIY juice station

Set up a spot with juices, sparkling water, fruit, candy garnishes, and cute cups. Everyone can mix their own drink and name it something dramatic like “Hot Girl Heartbreak.”

Galentine’s Day Craft Ideas

Crafts are perfect for Galentine’s Day because they’re interactive and leave you with something cute afterward.

String DIY friendship bracelets

Grab embroidery thread or bead kits and make bracelets for each other. It’s sweet, nostalgic, and feels like a tiny friendship ritual.

Decorate picture frames

Print your favorite photos together and decorate frames with stickers, glitter glue, or paint markers.

Create a love letter station (to your friends)

Write cute notes to each friend and exchange them at the end of the night. This one sounds cheesy, but it always ends with happy tears. Who doesn’t love an excuse to let their friends know they’re totally awesome?

Make a friendship scrapbook collage

Have all your friends bring in their favorite pictures of the group, and then you can make one big collage poster of your friendship. You can get crafty by adding magazine cutouts and stickers.

Bedazzle your favorite lip gloss

Have everyone bring their favorite lip gloss, chapstick, or anything that you can bedazzle, and then bling them out with bedazzling gems. You can also buy the same lip gloss or ChapStick for everyone to take home.

Galentine’s Day Ideas at Home

Not every celebration has to be a party. Sometimes Galentine’s Day is just you and one friend, or even a solo night of peace. These ideas are perfect for a cozy, low-key vibe.

Have a solo self-care reset night

Take a long shower, do your favorite skincare, put on comfy clothes, and just relax

Eat a “favorite things” dinner

Cook your comfort meal or order your favorite takeout, then set it up like it’s a cute little event with pretty plates, cute napkins, and drinking water out of something other than your Owala. Romanticize your own life for a night!

Bake something sweet (from a box)

Even just boxed cookies can feel like a whole activity. Put on music, bake, and eat warm cookies right off the tray because you deserve it. If you only have a microwave available, you can also buy prepackaged mug cakes.

Create a photo dump and memory reel

Go through your camera roll, make a mini photo album, or make an Instagram Reel or TikTok video montage of your favorite moments together with your best friend. You can do this solo or invite your friend over to

Write a “gratitude list” for your friendships

Write down the names of people you love and why you appreciate them. It’s a super grounding way to celebrate, especially if you’re feeling sentimental.
