Lately, I’ve been in my flip-flop era. They go with almost everything, from dresses and jeans to shorts, skirts, and swimsuit cover-ups. Your favorite celebs love them, too: Everyone from Kylie Jenner to Zendaya is rocking them this summer, according to Vogue — and no, August is not too late to score a pair of warm-weather shoes you’ll love. I’m half Brazilian, and Havaianas are essentially a way of life in Brazil (it’s also where they were created), so I own several pairs and can attest to their comfort. I wear them everywhere from the beach to running errands, and they’re so durable — I’ve had some of mine for seven years. Recently, they’ve become super popular in the U.S. because of their recent chic square toe design, which elevates the basic flip-flop silhouette.

These thick jelly flip-flops from Gap feel so 2000s — especially in their brighter colorways, like neon pink and blue. If your outfit feels like it’s lacking a little something, these would definitely do the trick. Some reviews mention the plastic outsole is a little “stiff” for comfort, so if you’re looking for another Gap option, try these Canvas Platform Flip Flops, which also add some height and color to your fit.
