As a kid, I loved buying (and eating!) Bomb Pops from the ice cream truck, but once you grow up, you don’t get too many opportunities to relive that quintessential summer moment. Well, Dunkin’ might’ve just changed that — kinda. The coffee and donut chain released a fun red, white, and blue donut, aptly named the Rocket Pop Donut.

After trying (and loving) Dunkin’s new Refreshers and Barbie pink cold foam, I had to see if the donut could live up to the hype or if a popsicle-flavored donut was too good to be true.

What Is Dunkin’s New Rocket Pop Donut?

Dunkin’ launched the chain’s new 2026 summer menu on June 3, and while most of the drinks are pink (as part of its collaboration with Barbie), the company also introduced a new red, white, and blue Rocket Pop Donut.

According to Dunkin’, the Rocket Pop Donut has a buttercreme filling that’s supposed to taste like cherry, lime, and raspberry (all at once!),” just like the classic popsicle. The shell is a classic yeast donut, and it’s topped with blue icing and a “stars & stripes sprinkle blend.” I paid $2.29 for one Rocket Pop Donut at my New York City Dunkin’.

My Honest Review of the Dunkin’ Rocket Pop Donut

As someone who isn’t a huge fan of tart flavors in pastries, I knew this probably wouldn’t be the donut I’d choose first in a normal situation, but I just had to try it!

The filling in the Dunkin’ Rocket Pop Donut tastes exactly like the popsicle it appears to have been inspired by. The flavor was so spot-on that it was like Dunkin’ melted a Bomb Pop and turned it into buttercreme. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the flavors blended in the donut filling. I could definitely taste cherry, lime, and raspberry flavors (Dunkin’ calls it “raspberry,” but based on the popsicle coloring, it’s giving true blue raspberry vibes). Overall, the cherry flavor was the strongest of the trio, although the red filling may have influenced my perception.

I would’ve liked the filling to have been more evenly spread out, but it was concentrated in the center. I don’t think that’s unique to this particular donut, though, and is just what you get with a filled donut. Still, I think anyone who enjoys fruit pastries, like lemon tarts, key lime pies, cherry strudels, or similar foods, would love the Rocket Pop Donut.

My Final Thoughts on the Dunkin’ Rocket Pop Donut

The Dunkin’ Rocket Pop Donut is a perfect recreation of the classic popsicle in pastry form. I would order it again if I was craving a Bomb Pop but didn’t want the summer heat to melt a popsicle in my hands within seconds.
