I Wish These 2 Crumbl Cookie Flavors Were on the Menu EVERY Week (They’re So Good!)
My college roommates and I always used to try the weekly Crumbl cookie drops and rate each flavor out of 10. I loved seeing which flavors lived up to the hype and which ones were not-so-crave-worthy, so I thought I’d bring back this fun tradition. Although weekly Crumbl menu taste tests are no longer a routine activity for me, I always check the website on Sunday nights to see the new cookie flavors.
When I saw this week’s Crumbl lineup for July 28, I knew I had to give this menu a taste. The first flavor that caught my eye was the cake batter cookie, and that was enough for me to realize I needed to try all six new flavors.
Since Crumbl puts out new flavors weekly, it’s hard to know when you should try them and when you should skip. To help you out, I put this week’s menu to the test — here are the cookies worth trying, and which you can pass on.
My Honest Review of This Week’s New Crumbl Cookies (Ranked)
Every week, Crumbl releases a unique menu of different cookie flavors on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET. The lineup usually includes the chocolate chip cookie, as well as five or six other cookies. As of late 2024, Crumbl also has one or two weekly desserts that are not a ~traditional~ cookie.
There are over 200 cookie flavor variations in Crumbl’s rotation, and new flavors are added often. Here’s what each cookie this week — July 28-Aug. 2 — is all about, along with my honest review and official ranking, from the one I liked least to the one I liked the most. (TBH, I wish my top two were on the menu every single week.)
New Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake (3 out of 10)
It’s a strawberry summer, and Crumbl hopped on the trend with this fruity cookie. The base of this cookie is a cookies and cream crust, topped with strawberry cheesecake. It’s finished off with chocolate ganache and whipped cream.
The cookies and cream base of this cookie tasted amazing, but I wasn’t a huge fan of any of the toppings. The website says this cookie is supposed to be served chilled, but mine happened to be room temperature when I ate it, and it was a bit melty. I’m not a huge fan of cheesecake, and the strawberry flavor was a little bit too subtle — but if it was chilled, maybe it would’ve fared better.
Cookies and Cream Tres Leches Cake (5 out of 10)
This dessert is a chocolate cake soaked in tres leches sauce, topped with whipped cream and cookies and cream streusel.
I had never tried any of the non-cookie desserts at Crumbl, so I was excited to see what this cake was all about. I had very low expectations for this cake, and actually liked it (of course, not as much as I liked some of my favorites, hence the five rating). The tres leches-soaked chocolate cake was delicious and unlike anything I have ever had. I also found the topping to be not too overpowering or rich.
Double Chocolate Chip Cookie (6 out of 10)
This classic cookie is made with milk chocolate chips, and topped with semisweet chocolate chips and a pinch of sea salt.
As a self-proclaimed chocolate chip cookie connoisseur, I couldn’t taste the weekly flavors without a bite of the weekly recurring cookie. I have to say I was a bit disappointed with this cookie. I prefer a more underbaked fresh homemade cookie, and this one was a bit too crispy. I also wasn’t a huge fan of the salt on top. But even still, the chocolate chip goodness gets an above average rating from me.
Lemon Bar Cookie (7 out of 10)
Following the fruity theme, this lemon cookie is topped with a lemon bar topping and powdered sugar.
When there’s chocolate available, I usually don’t reach for a fruity cookie. This flavor was probably the least exciting to me of the entire lineup, but I was pleasantly surprised. I think the sugar cookie base paired really well with the tart lemon topping, and it was a refreshing and summery treat.
Snickerdoodle Skillet Cookie (8 out of 10)
Another new flavor this week, this skillet is a vanilla cookie rolled in cinnamon sugar. It is topped with cinnamon mousse, white chocolate, and cinnamon streusel.
I had never tasted any of the Crumbl skillet cookies, but it seems like they try to replicate a cookie with ice cream on top. The cinnamon mousse on top of this cookie was a bit too rich for me, but I loved everything else about this cookie. They nailed the snickerdoodle!
Cake Batter Cookie (9 out of 10)
Perhaps one of the most simple cookies of this week is a cake batter-flavored cookie with cream cheese frosting and cake batter balls on top.
As a huge fan of everything cake batter or cookie dough-flavored, I was most looking forward to giving this treat a taste. When I opened the box, this cookie was the first one I smelled. I loved everything about this cookie. It’s definitely on the sweeter side, but was my favorite of this week’s lineup without a doubt.
