I grew up on a steady diet of peanut butter-laden foods. We’re talking peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, Fluffernutter sandwiches (shoutout to my New England people), Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and peanut butter blossom cookies. Peanut butter has been part of my life for so long, but I never would have said I’m obsessed with peanut butter.

Like, it’s around, of course; my pantry has never been without at least one jar of peanut butter (usually two, because sometimes you want that texture of extra-crunchy peanut butter).

But everything changed when I had my first jar of Big Spoon Roasters peanut butter. It started with a Christmas gift from my fiancé, Theo. They put a jar of Bourbon Pecan Peanut Butter in my stocking, and the first bite sent me down a rabbit hole filled with delicious nut butters.

Big Spoon Roasters’ Maple Cinnamon Peanut & Pecan Butter Is My Favorite Spread

Fellow lovers of Big Spoon Roasters’ nut butters will likely say it’s the texture that makes them stand out. That is very correct and wise of them. Sagacious, even.

The flavor and texture are both top-notch in every jar of Big Spoon Roasters’ nut butters. None of the ones I’ve tried (and I’ve tried almost all of them) are overly sweet. There are a lot of flavors to choose from, including occasional fun collabs with other brands and seasonal flavors.

None are so overpoweringly flavored, though, as to make you forget that you’re eating nut butter. The nuts, whatever the mix, stand out as the main flavor profile, and the flavorings act more like accents that blend beautifully with the toasty, nutty flavors.

It’s worth trying a bunch of them to pick your favorite. My favorite jar, by far, is the Maple Cinnamon Peanut & Pecan Butter. This one is so good that Theo and I went through FOUR jars in less than a month. We barely go through one jar of standard peanut butter in that time, let alone quadruple that. Like with all of Big Spoon Roasters’ flavored peanut butters, the cinnamon and maple are very present and accounted for, but they don’t overwhelm.

It’s important to note that if you’re a staunch smooth peanut butter person, this might not be the peanut butter for you, because it can be on the grittier end. But it’s also so good that it just might convert you to the crunchy side.

The Best Way to Enjoy Big Spoon Roasters’ Maple Cinnamon Peanut & Pecan Butter

Literally right out of the jar. Like, part of the reason they’re called Big Spoon Roasters is that you’ll likely be eating its nut butters with a big spoon, just as the nut gods intended, as has been foretold since time immemorial.

Theo swirls a big spoonful of it into his morning buckwheat porridge; I stir it into oatmeal. It’s wonderful when slightly warmed up and drizzled over ice cream, and it will probably change your toast game forever.
