I know I’m not the only one who looks forward to cold weather. Since I live in Louisiana, where it’s practically summer year-round, any hint of a wind chill is a welcome development. It’s also when I start getting my space ready with my comfiest essentials. Over the years, I’ve tried out tons of cozy items from bedding to loungewear and have racked up quite a few favorites. One brand that’s definitely worth keeping a close eye on is Big Blanket Co.

While the company is known for impressive oversized blankets that you’ll want to bundle up in all year round, a Big Blanket Co. product I break out most often for the cooler months isn’t a traditional blanket at all: It’s the Hideout Hoodie.

What Is the Hideout Hoodie?

The Hideout Hoodie is a wearable blanket that has a ton of cozy features built right into its design. The hoodie comes in one generous size, has thumb holes in the cuffed sleeves, and is equipped with a ready-to-use sleep mask in the hood. The hoodie pouch is also conveniently zippered so you can choose to use it to keep your hands warm whenever you please. Its soft and smooth exterior is made with polyester and spandex which gives it some stretch, and its plush sherpa-lined interior ensures optimal coziness.

The oversized, extra-long Hideout Hoodie is available in a variety of colors and patterns that are often dependent on the season. The colors even include some limited edition options that are sure to sell out if you don’t get to them quickly, including space-themes, tie-dye, cat motifs, video games, and holiday styles. Durable and wrinkle-resistant, the Hideout Hoodie is machine-washable and even comes with its own aesthetically pleasing (and matching) drawstring bag for storage.

Why I Love the Hideout Hoodie

One of my favorite things to do when the weather starts cools down is bundle up. I have tons of throw blankets from knit styles to chunky designs, but a wearable blanket really is the best of both worlds. First, I love that the Hideout Hoodie comes with its own storage bag. I don’t keep my throws out in the open all of the time, otherwise, they’d take up a lot of space. But not the Hideout Hoodie. I can keep it neatly stowed away in its sack without it being in the way.

The Hideout Hoodie is incredibly cozy and is made for snuggling inside of it. The thumb holes are a nice touch and the zippered pocket is genius. It prevents any unnecessary billowing from the hoodie if I’m not keeping my hands warm or stashing the TV remote. The built-in eye mask is another excellent feature that caters to relaxation. It blocks enough light for a daytime nap, and when I don’t want to use it, I can tuck it away with ease. The Hideout Hoodie is definitely a piece I’ll be wearing constantly as the temperatures continue to drop and the daylight hours get shorter. Besides, since there’s no re-wrapping or readjusting, it’s way easier to wear a blanket around than carry one. What’s not to love?

Buy: Hideout Hoodie, $103.20 (normally $129)
