There is truly nothing I want to see more than a pint of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream after a long day. With its wide range of flavors, chunky textures, and bold combinations, a pint of Ben & Jerry’s has been my freezer staple for more than 10 years. (Even the plain ’ol vanilla is really good.)

So when I heard the Vermont-based brand was releasing three new sundaes, I knew I had to try them to see if any could top my favorite: Chocolate Therapy.

What You Should Know About Ben & Jerry’s New Sundae Collection

The three new flavors arrived for Valentine’s Day, and with names like Straw-Bae Shortcake, Mocha Mood Pie, and PB Blondie Bestie, I was already curious how they’d taste. Each sundae features a whipped topping and is adorned with fudge chips, shortcake crumbles, or mini peanut butter cups. So instead of buying sauces, sprinkles, and a can of whipped cream to top your ice cream, these pints have everything you need for a layered, decadent dessert.

They’re visually stunning, but do the flavors hold up? Here’s the scoop.

My Honest Review of Ben & Jerry’s New Sundae Collection

After testing all three flavors, there’s a clear standout that completely shocked me. I normally lean toward the more chocolate, coffee, or caramel options, but the Straw-Bae Shortcake was simply unbeatable. Its sweet cream ice cream is speckled with shortcake cookies and a dark red ribbon of strawberry flavor, topped with a strawberry whip and classic shortcake crumble.

I was so surprised by how fresh the strawberry ribbon was; it almost tasted homemade to me. The shortcake cookies added a soft, chewy texture that was pleasantly salty to balance out the sweetness of the strawberry and airiness of the whipped topping, which made it feel more sophisticated than a typical pint.

The other flavors, PB Blondie Bestie and Mocha Mood Pie, are equally innovative, but I consider them to be runners-up in comparison. PB Blondie Bestie features peanut butter ice cream, chunks of “blonde” brownies, and graham cracker swirls, all topped with a caramel-swirled whip and mini peanut butter cups. While I expected this one to be my favorite, I found the caramel to be slightly artificial in comparison, which overpowered the peanut butter and blondie elements.

Mocha Mood Pie had a distinct chocolate cold brew ice cream with chocolate cookies, topped with a fudge whip and fudge chips. Though I’m typically a coffee lover, I found this one to have a bit less dimension flavor-wise than the fruity, salty, creamy and chewy combo of Straw-Bae Shortcake.

Ben & Jerry’s has always created some of the most innovative ice cream flavors on the market, and this new collection is no exception. Although Straw-Bae Shortcake was my personal standout, you can’t go wrong with any of these layered pints. Whether you’re looking for a creamy, fruit-forward option, a deep, dark coffee flavor, or a salty-sweet peanut butter scoop, this collection has a little something for everyone.
