Packing my clothes for Thanksgiving and winter break is always a hassle. Between needing cute outfits for family gatherings, cozy sweaters for chilly days, workout clothes for staying active, and pajamas for lounging around, I end up with way more clothes than I want to deal with.

I’m a college senior, and I’ve never found an effective solution; I always end up just throwing everything in my luggage

However, I came across a TikTok hack from @cleanwithnessa that promises to make packing and hanging clothes so much easier, and I’m definitely going to try it when I go home for winter break.

How to Do the “Bedsheet Bag” Hack

  1. Lay a flat bedsheet on your bed or the floor.
  2. Place your hanging clothes in the center of the sheet, hangers included.
  3. Pull the corners of the sheet together and tie them up to create a secure “sack.”
  4. When you get to your destination, simply untie the sheet and hang everything back up!

I love the time-saving potential here. You don’t have to take anything off hangers, refold any clothes, or put any items back on hangers.

Plus, the bedsheet sack is so easy to transport. The sheet keeps everything together and compact. (Obviously, you have to be traveling by car for this hack to work; this would probably be too cumbersome for airplane luggage.)

Finally, it’s both budget-friendly and sustainable. There’s no need for packing cubes or plastic baggies — you just grab a sheet you already have.

Tips to Keep in Mind

I’m planning to use a larger sheet when I try out this hack since I’ll be packing a lot of clothes, and I’ll also make sure the knot is secure so nothing slips out.

If you’re heading home for break or moving dorms or homes, I think this hack is worth a shot. (You could even test it out without the hangers on a laundry load you need to transport!) It’s simple and cheap, and it will hopefully make unpacking so much faster.
